Welcome… Who are you?

Written by Robert Rhodes on Saturday, August 13, 2005 in: Main |

In July of 1996, the web was still in it’s infancy. (Well, compared to today’s webbed world, anyway.)

I typed up a little “about me” spot, and posted it on my little virtual island of land that I had at the time.

Word came down the pipe that posting websites with your personal photos, favorite links, and other favorite personal stuff wasa big no-no. I did it anyway, but tried to keep it somewhat professional.

I left out daily routines, and mentioned only major instances I could remember. This I did for eight years.

Welcome to 2005.

And instead of being called a biography… which is still is… now it’s a blog.

A what?

What didn’t even have a name in ‘96 is now called a weblog.

So, I figured, since I’d been keeping a blog for the last eight years… why not make it official for the ninth?

And here we are.

Will I post daily? Dunno. I’d like to try and post more often than once a year.

What’s the advantage to posting in a blog? My friends and family get to participate, if they so desire.

Now, that should make it interesting.

  • Does anyone keep a ‘written’ journal any more? Do not have to worry about spyware, etc. in a written book. Just a thought. :-)
