Give Me a Break

The Democratic National Committee. Liberals. The Left.

Yeah. Those guys.

The opposing party of the Republican National Committee. Conservatives. The Right.

Differences make sense. Not everyone should agree. But logical, common sense arguments about real life, serious situations make sense.

Until lately.

I’m sorry. But. Have the liberals lost their minds? Did they choose to get up one morning and say, “the heck with logic… we’ll just lie, cheat, and steal, and then accuse the Republicans of everything that we’re doing. After all, if we’re doing it, everyone is doing it. We speak for the majority of Americans! We are the voice of the American people!”

When did the media decide that they agreed with that logic so much, that they’d start covering nothing but liberal news and reporting anything conservative as a bad idea or a disaster?

Are we, the Citizens of the United States, stupid? I’d like to think not. In fact, I’d wager a majority of Americans are reasonably bright, informed individuals.

But Mayor Ray “Noodlehead” Nagin proved me wrong.

Then his boss, the Governor Kathleen “Blanko” Blanco, proved that stupidity isn’t limited to just a city official.

Ok. That’s old news. Or is it? Someone should tell the media. Only the media are the folks that complained about how slow President Bush was to responding to Hurricane Katrina and is now complaining about how fast he was to respond to Hurricane Rita.

Huh?

Fine. Whatever. Things were bad. Bush took action. Things work better. That’s the important part.

Next on my “what rock did you crawl out from” list is Cindy Sheehan.

What sympathy I may have had for this woman has LONG since been replaced by nausea.

Particularly when you consider some of poo this woman has been spewing forth.

What? Haven’t heard any poo? Well, here’s what you’ve been missing:

“America has been killing people on this continent since it was started. This country is not worth dying for…”

“You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you’ll stop the terrorism.”

“Thank God for the Internet, or we wouldn’t know anything, and we would already be a fascist state.”

“George Bush needs to stop talking, admit the mistakes of his all around failed administration, pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans.”

“We are waging a nuclear war in Iraq right now. That country is contaminated. It will be contaminated for practically eternity now.”

Here’s one you won’t find in liberal media anywhere:

“Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full-well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by George Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11.”

Here’s a big list from another Blog worth reading:

Stupid Sheehan Quotes.

IN fact, Amy’s blog is so good, I’m including it on my right column links. Her RSS feed doesn’t seem to be working right now, so I’ve also included a direct link to her site.

What she says not only makes sense, but says a great deal of what I’m thinking, except she’s already written it.

As for stupid people.. well.. Dad always told me that you can’t argue with a drunk.

That covers Teddy Kennedy, but the metaphor fits for stupid people too.

Hurricanes in the Pacific

Written by Robert Rhodes on Monday, September 19, 2005 in: Main |

Much is in the news about Hurricane Rita. Much has been in the news about Hurricane Katrina.

Outside of local news, I haven’t seen boo about no less than 3 storms in the Pacific that has the attention of the Aloha State: Hawaii.

Jova, Kenneth, Lidia, Max… has anyone heard about these? Just curious.

Think I’ll see about adding their RSS streams to my blog’s right sidebar, until they’re gone. If nothing else, it’ll be easy to find info on them for me, since it just means checking my blog.

Getting Test-y

Written by Robert Rhodes on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 in: Main |

Pardon my dust while I attempt to attach/link to an audio file, and see if RSS will pick it up, and make it available as a PodCast.

This is my test audio file #1.

Update: Ok, I’ve gotten that to work as a PodCast. Now, what happens when I include more than one audio file in a posting? Let us see with test audio file #2.

Update #2: Works as it should. For those that would like to subscribe to the Aloha Daze podcast, my suggestion [if you don't have iPod] is to download the latest version of iTunes 5.0+, which is compatible with Podcasts. Then, just add this RSS2.0 link to the Podcast subscription folder. Anytime video or audio podcasts are available, you should receive them in your iTunes’ podcast folder.

The “Blame Game” Rebuttal

Written by Robert Rhodes on Friday, September 9, 2005 in: Politics |

Liberal Democrats. Ain’t they just a fun group? Doom. Gloom. Death. Destruction. Hate.

Yes, hate. They hate the fact that Pres. George W. Bush won the election. And they’re beside themselves that he won TWICE.

Obviously, the American people are a bunch of dopes and can’t think for themselves. What we really need is a liberal Democrat in office, and a liberal Democrat majority led Congress. Let freedom ring!

Except, wait. Oops. Maybe this isn’t such a good idea after all. Let’s examine what happens when liberal Democrats are in charge at the local and state level. Let’s look at New Orleans and Louisiana. Poor people with crooks in charge of the state. Liberalism in charge for years gets you… nothing but trouble.

But instead of me running off on a long rant, and you, loyal reader, thinking that my opinion is that of my imagination… I’ll direct you to a posting by someone with more merit in the political jungle than I. The following link opens another window. Have a big read, and then come on back for the rest of my little rant:

Blame Amid the Tragedy

Right on the mark. Every word true and accurate. A mayor that failed to do his job, whining about everyone else instead. A governor that, only after getting a phonecall from Pres. Bush, decided to declare a state of emergency. (And even then the declaration came twenty-four hours after Pres. Bush’s phonecall!)

An evacuation plan that was never utilized. Buses and transportation available to get people out; not utilized.

FEMA gets blamed.. only FEMA isn’t a first response group. They never have been. Federal response agencies are called in once the local and state levels request them.

Sorry… I forgot: Liberal Democrats rarely allow the facts to get in the way of a good finger-pointing. Particularly if it means pointing those fingers at President Bush.

Peter David, noted writer of stuff and all around good-guy, is – unfortunately – taking the stance of the liberal Democrats as well. Where as in my previous post, Atlantis Revisited, I said that the liberals would find a way to blame President Bush [and I was right], Mr. David now says “One thing guaranteed, though: They’ll try to find a way to blame it on Clinton. But Clinton shouldn’t take it personally. It’s all part of the game.”

Oh, Yeah. Clinton is definitely Mr. Clean. But I digress. Let’s get back to the facts.

Did you know that the Red Cross was there, ready with food and water, at the SuperDome? Only the governor told them not to go in: it would cause everyone to be drawn inside the SuperDome. Can’t have that.

So what do you do if you’re a liberal and you get a chance to “get at” President Bush?

Go dancing.

There is likely enough blame to go around. But if you believe that President Bush is the sole reason for blame, the levees breaking, Katrina hitting New Orleans, and global warming, you are sorely misinformed. Or misdirected. Or, just another liberal Democrat.

Dazed and Confuzed

Written by Robert Rhodes on Saturday, September 3, 2005 in: Main |

You’ll notice a change to the blog site. I’m working it over, and moving it over. It was previously housed at another location, but I wanted more control over the data [and backups of it too], so I’m moving it over to my own personal site.

This has the added advantage of no pop-ups (I didn’t realize at the time that the previous site had them), and no advertisements except that which I choose to place on the site.

Give me a couple of days and it’ll look a little better.
