Give Me a Break

The Democratic National Committee. Liberals. The Left.

Yeah. Those guys.

The opposing party of the Republican National Committee. Conservatives. The Right.

Differences make sense. Not everyone should agree. But logical, common sense arguments about real life, serious situations make sense.

Until lately.

I’m sorry. But. Have the liberals lost their minds? Did they choose to get up one morning and say, “the heck with logic… we’ll just lie, cheat, and steal, and then accuse the Republicans of everything that we’re doing. After all, if we’re doing it, everyone is doing it. We speak for the majority of Americans! We are the voice of the American people!”

When did the media decide that they agreed with that logic so much, that they’d start covering nothing but liberal news and reporting anything conservative as a bad idea or a disaster?

Are we, the Citizens of the United States, stupid? I’d like to think not. In fact, I’d wager a majority of Americans are reasonably bright, informed individuals.

But Mayor Ray “Noodlehead” Nagin proved me wrong.

Then his boss, the Governor Kathleen “Blanko” Blanco, proved that stupidity isn’t limited to just a city official.

Ok. That’s old news. Or is it? Someone should tell the media. Only the media are the folks that complained about how slow President Bush was to responding to Hurricane Katrina and is now complaining about how fast he was to respond to Hurricane Rita.

Huh?

Fine. Whatever. Things were bad. Bush took action. Things work better. That’s the important part.

Next on my “what rock did you crawl out from” list is Cindy Sheehan.

What sympathy I may have had for this woman has LONG since been replaced by nausea.

Particularly when you consider some of poo this woman has been spewing forth.

What? Haven’t heard any poo? Well, here’s what you’ve been missing:

“America has been killing people on this continent since it was started. This country is not worth dying for…”

“You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you’ll stop the terrorism.”

“Thank God for the Internet, or we wouldn’t know anything, and we would already be a fascist state.”

“George Bush needs to stop talking, admit the mistakes of his all around failed administration, pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans.”

“We are waging a nuclear war in Iraq right now. That country is contaminated. It will be contaminated for practically eternity now.”

Here’s one you won’t find in liberal media anywhere:

“Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full-well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by George Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11.”

Here’s a big list from another Blog worth reading:

Stupid Sheehan Quotes.

IN fact, Amy’s blog is so good, I’m including it on my right column links. Her RSS feed doesn’t seem to be working right now, so I’ve also included a direct link to her site.

What she says not only makes sense, but says a great deal of what I’m thinking, except she’s already written it.

As for stupid people.. well.. Dad always told me that you can’t argue with a drunk.

That covers Teddy Kennedy, but the metaphor fits for stupid people too.
