Clueless Saturday for New Orleans

Written by Robert Rhodes on Sunday, April 23, 2006 in: Politics |

Ah, to be a Democratic Liberal. Saturday was your day, was it not?

New Orleans: the votes are in, and residents are split. Should they choose a new mayor? Or stay with the wiener that they have now?

Of the 20-plus people that chose to run for Mayor Of New Orleans, 38 percent (41,489 votes) went to Ray “Noodlehead” Nagin, 29 percent (31,499 votes) for Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, and 17 percent (18,734 votes) went to Ron Forman. (I guess the other 19 candidates got about 1 vote each… but whatever they got, they were very far behind the first three.)

While Noodlehead Nagin may have received 38 percent, he didn’t get the majority of the vote, so there will be a May 20th runoff election.

What bothers me – and should bother the residents of New Orleans – is that they’re trying to hire the same guy that so obviously displayed just how inept he was at his job last year.

Got a city that needs help? Get Clueless Noodlehead Nagin! He won’t leave you high and dry! (In fact, just the opposite!)

Some of the math is interesting too… Before Katrina, New Orleans had a population of 455,000. Then Katrina happened, and residents spread out across the States. Of the now-spread-out population, 297,000 of them are registered voters.

Anyone see a math equation that doesn’t add up?

Take 297,000 voters. Subtract the ones that voted for the big three candidates. That leaves 205,278 voters. Which averges about 10,804 voters for each of the remaining 19 candidates. That’s unlikely.

But the percentages coming from the state indicate that 84 percent of the votes went to the first three candidates… but 84 percent of 297,000 registered voters gives us an average of over 83,000 votes per candidate of the first three candidates. Well, that ain’t right either.

I don’t know what this means… only that it don’t add up. But then again, the one thing I can say about New Orleans is that things don’t add up there often.

And no matter what the turnout now, it turns out that Rev. Jesse “Where’s The Camera?” Jackson “plans to challenge the election outcome in court regardless of the winner, arguing displaced voters were disenfranchised because they weren’t allowed to vote in polling places in such adopted cities as Houston, Dallas and Atlanta.”

Certainly good to know that ol’ Jesse has his priorities in order: himself.

Now if only New Orleans could get their prorities in order.

    Racist Group Grabs Immigration Opportunity

Written by Robert Rhodes on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 in: Politics |

    Alright, look people.

    Read every word carefully.

Illegal immigration is a problem that must be addressed. It isn’t a Mexican issue. It isn’t an Italian issue. It isn’t about any particular group. It’s about ILLEGAL immigrants.

Truth be told, I think most legal and illegal immigrants get it. But the temptation for the ILLEGALS to take advantage of the USA is just too great for some groups.

    Here’s one now:

    Mexica Movement.

For the record, I’m about to say bad things about this group. Like, for instance, they’re nuts. According to what I can tell on their site, I’m either with them, or racist. (I was going to call them a moonbat group.. but I don’t want to insult genuine moonbats out there.)

Why is it that racist sites/people/groups always blame or use the race card on someone else, but never themselves? Are they so blind by racism that they can’t see that they are the perpetrators? Anyway…

If you visited their site, you would be presented with the following imagery:

    Arnold Schwarzenegger as a Nazi

People volunteered to help carry our signs.

This is our continent NOT YOURS

Mothers of members and supporters came out to march with our people. This was not a march of “undocumented” as has been portrayed in the media. Mexica Movement was there and the majority of our membership has been born in the “U.S.”.

Not enough to convince you? Try this little paragraph taken from their page full of tripe:

Like we said, there are a lot of good white people out there, but there are also the loud, violent, and low I.Q. Racist White Supremacists who would easily put us in concentration camps and ovens if they felt they could get away with it. Some have already written to us to tell us that they have concentration camps and hot ovens waiting for us.

Implying that their plight compares to a holocaust of their own makes me sick. This group is just using the bad situation that America needs to fix to further their own racist agenda. They’re painting themselves as supportors of the ILLEGAL immigrant situation, when they’re really just a nutwing group spouting their own idea of history, current events, and racism.

You can paint a skunk white and call it a French Poodle, but it still stinks like a skunk.

The bottom of their main page spouts off several lines of text. These lines of text are designed to make their site “search engine happy.” They use and abuse the word “aztec” so many times it’s just fall down funny.

What isn’t funny is one of the paragraphs of broken English phrases [designed for search engines in this fashion on purpose] at the bottom of their main page that reads “Don’t accept the illegal latino gangs of Europe, black latino, el latino, because barrio latino, is not latino organizations. False latino pride, their latino news is phony…” So now only certain Latinos and Hispanics are considered part of their group?

This group is misguided, and their message is sickening. I hope that American citizens and immigrants – legal and illegal – see them for who they are.

I also feel for Velocity Networks (www.vel.net), that have to put up with this crazy group’s website on their system.

For a group that can’t yell loud enough that the United States isn’t really legal, they have no problem using an American company to run their website, which asks for American dollar donations… all this while hiding behind the American freedom of speech.

If they want some donations, perhaps they should join the other groups out there that are fighting against American oppression? Like maybe, Fidel Castro or Hugo Chavez.

Maybe they can get Jane Fonda to be their spokesperson.

    I’m Lou Dobbs!

Written by Robert Rhodes on Monday, April 17, 2006 in: Politics |

Those crazy, loveable illegal immigrants are just all kinds of torn up about being called ILLEGAL.

Well, excuse the poo out of me, but if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck…

Now these ILLEGAL immigrants – spearheaded by one clueless moonbat – are out to get Lou Dobbs fired from CNN, never to return to the airwaves on any channel.

Why? Turns out that Dobbs suggests a secure border, a complete end to ILLEGAL immigration, and federal penalties for employers that hire ILLEGALS.

See the CNN video about this sillyness.

I don’t watch CNN very often, and never watch Lou Dobbs… but if supporting the idea of an end to ILLEGAL immigrants makes those same ILLEGALS mad… well then…

…with apologies to Kirk Douglas’ Spartacus…. “I’m Lou Dobbs!”

Suicide Bombers Ready To Attack Britain

Written by Robert Rhodes on in: Politics |

From the Sunday Times – Britain:

IRAN has formed battalions of suicide bombers to strike at British and American targets if the nation’s nuclear sites are attacked. According to Iranian officials, 40,000 trained suicide bombers are ready for action.

That seems like a lot of work to me. I have a better idea.

If any plans to attack Iran are to go forward, I suggest that the suicide bombers strap on their boom-boom gear, and go hug the nearest Iranian nuclear facility.

Then, when the facility is blown up, the suicide bombers can off themselves [or each other] and save themselves the trouble of having to fly to Britain. It’s bound to be cheaper this way. I mean, 40,000 bombers going to Britain? That’s bound to be an expensive bus ride. Just stay home and blow up your neighbors, friends and selves.

Trust me: those suicide bombers would have the appreciation of the world!

Reflecting on the Actions of Murder

Written by Robert Rhodes on Thursday, April 13, 2006 in: Politics |

There’s been much talk in the news lately about the new film United 93.

What’s all the fuss? Well, it’s not about the fact that the film is tastefully done, or sticks to facts as closely as possible.

The argument is that it’s too soon after the events of 9/11 to be making a film about it.

    Bullchips.

Seen any photos lately from 9/11? Maybe a few seconds of video? A few? Not sure?

My bet is that you’ve heard “9/11″ in speeches from President Bush. Or at the least, in political circles.

I don’t know about YOU, but 9/11 made me mad. MAD. I wanted the bad guys found, and dealt with. I wasn’t alone. A country united said and felt the same way.

A little over 4 years later, we’ve got a mess of Dem bulbs out there saying we shouldn’t be in Iraq. Or Afghanistan. In fact, we’ve no business over there at all. We should come back home, everyone hold hands, sing Kum Ba Ya, and apologize to the terrorists for putting those stupid towers up because, y’know, 9/11 was really America’s fault, and America stinks, and Bush Lied ™ …

In the meantime, we should open our borders, allow those that are illegal to be legalized, and those of us that can afford [or can't for that matter] to pay our taxes get the honor of paying for the services that illegals are using now, because we’re America, dammit, and we have so much anyway, that we owe the rest of the world a living.

    Give Me A Friggin’ Break.

If more people had 9/11 on their minds more often, I think things would be different. And I don’t mean verbally in politics. I mean in photos. In videos. In the calls of those that used their cell phones on the planes.

We Americans need to be fired up and pissed off about the whole situation that was created on 9/11, and how we’ve become so hands-off about the whole situation now.

Too soon for United 93? No. Not soon enough.

Remember the Alamo? Remember Pearl Harbor? Enough passions ran hot for those events, and rightfully so, to set actions in motion that made the world a better place.

    Remember 9/11?

In your ears. In your eyes. In your hearts. In your rage as Americans, you absolutely should.

    Legal American Citizen Blues

Written by Robert Rhodes on Friday, April 7, 2006 in: Politics |

All this fuss about amnesty for illegal immigrants has been just so much fun to watch.

But in the meantime, and for a little while longer, I’m taking a moment [several actually] to complete my Federal and Hawaii tax returns.

It’s a tedious, often frustrating event that, while I’m unhappy about the numbers, I’m happy to be performing as a legal American citizen.

I wonder how many of the 10+ million illegals in the country pay their taxes? I mean, just because they’re breaking the law doesn’t mean they’re criminals.

    ..

    Huh?
