And now, a little local news:

The cruise ship Pride of Hawai‘i made its first appearance in the state at Nawiliwili Harbor yesterday.

Robert Kritzman, executive vice president and managing director of [Norwegian Cruise Line] America’s Hawai‘i operations, said the Pride of Hawai‘i is a state-of-the-art ship.

The $500 million ship carries 2,500 passengers and 1,000 crew members, featuring 10 restaurants, 12 bars, a large pool area with a water slide and a health and fitness spa.

Kritzman called the ship a floating city with 3,500 people in it.

Michael Moore Getting Sued For Lie

Written by Robert Rhodes on in: Politics |

And that lie, in the broad sense, is his 2004 movie “Farenheit 9/11.”

Specifically, Michael “Facts Don’t Matter To Me” Moore used a clip from NBC of a man, removed the context of what the man was talking about, and also removed the statement from the NBC clip that the man - along with the other wounded in the clip - were behind the war effort.

After all, why include a statement like that, when you can just lie and imply that they were, instead, against the war effort.

Well, that man, Sgt. Peter Damon, is suing Michael Moore for $85 million.

I love, love it, love it. I want some Moore of it.

Hey, could I argue that Moore’s mockumentary “Farenheit 9/11″ actually lied to the public that saw it? I was lead to believe that it was full of facts and was a documentary. My bet is that I wasn’t alone.

Yes, I’m guilty of spending $7 to watch that crap of a movie. I spent about 30 minutes of the middle of the movie sleeping. (After all, the only thing the movie said during the two hours of my life that it ran, was that Bush Lied ™ and everyone should Hate Bush.)

Could we, the people that viewed the movie and were misled, put together a class action lawsuit against Michael “Screw The Facts” Moore?

I don’t know.. but it sure does sound good to me.

FBI Raid on William Jefferson

Written by Robert Rhodes on in: Politics |

So, now, let me see if I have this right.

William Jefferson, Democrat from Louisiana, was caught red-handed in a sting operation taking a $100,000 bribe.

The powers that be went “across the street” to the Other Building to see a judge and get a warrant so that the FBI could go into William Jefferson’s office (LEGALLY) and home to get all the necessary evidence to convict his bribed butt and turn him into a girly-man for some large inmate (or several) at a federal prison.

Instead, just about everyone [Democrat and Republican] is complaining. Not about the evidence.. but about the fact that the warrant came from “across the street.”

Bullchips on everyone throwing a fit. Jefferson is guilty. Let the warrant stand. Indict the dimwit. Stick him in prison.

Book ‘em, Dano!

Annoying Moonbats and Supporting Troops

Written by Robert Rhodes on Monday, May 29, 2006 in: Politics |

About 8 weeks ago, I visited the America Supports You website and sent a supportive note to the troops.

Recently I received the dogtags that they mention on their website.

America Supports You dogtags

Frankly, the dogtags are a cute idea, but I don’t know if I’ll wear them regularly. These tags, to me, represent the troops that serve and have served. The troops that have retired, and the ones that will never come home. I have much respect for those troops, so I don’t know if I want to belittle the idea of dogtags by wearing these.

Having said that, I’m tempted to do so anyway. The military presence here on Oahu is strong: many times have I seen the flyboys in the air with (I assume) their F-14’s in training, the many convoys of equipment on the freeways, and the men and women relaxing for a moment at a restaurant near one of the bases.

Unfortunately, what’s equally strong is the liberal moonbat attitude I’ve seen from some of the student body - as well as the University of Hawaii itself. The usual “Bush Lied” ™ rhetoric can be heard when near the brainless masses.

It’s all about freedom of speech at UH Manoa… unless, of course, they disagree with the topic.

I should wear my dogtags, go buy a Club G’itmo shirt, wear an EIB Rush Limbaugh cap, and go find a big fat liberal moonbat meeting where I could just sit.

Doubtful that I’d have to say a single word, I’d probably get the usual moonbat response without saying a single thing: lots of yelling.

Unlike the students that protest just to hear their own voice, though, I have more important things to do.

Like supporting the troops, and cheesing off liberals.

Vicente Fox Against National Guard at Border

Written by Robert Rhodes on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 in: Politics |

So, el Presidente Vicente Fox is taking a tour through the United States, promoting the idea of illegal immigrants from Mexico getting a free ride:

“We don’t set up walls, and that’s not the way you’re going to fix this situation,” Fox said in Spanish to representatives of groups active in Utah’s Mexican community. “It’s not with fences that we are going to solve this problem.”

There were cheers of “Viva Mexico” as Fox shook hands before leaving for an official dinner at the governor’s mansion.

Well, excuuuuse the stinky poo out of me. But the last I checked, Fox’s presidential powers END at the Mexican/American border.

Fox: You don’t like the idea of the USA putting up a wall, and running the National Guard across the border to assist the Border Patrol to help prevent illegal immigrants from crossing the border? Why? Could it be because - what was the number? - 15% of the Mexican workforce is in America, and most of those send back money to home (Mexico) in the sum of something like $2 Billion/year?

How about this, el Presidente: go back home, and take care of the corruption that is in Mexico before the end of your term in December. You do remember Mexico? Right? That country that you’re in charge of, but apparently you’re not?

Give me a break. Por favor.

Apology From A Bush Voter

Written by Robert Rhodes on in: Politics |

I was sent this link (Apology From A Bush Voter) by Ken. In short, it’s a talk show host in Los Angeles who says that he voted for Bush in 2000, but decided by 2004 that he’d chosen poorly, and didn’t vote for Bush again in 2004. His reasons being pretty much every talking point of the left wing liberal moonbat party.

I wasn’t going to post a reply to that moonbat’s rant… but I just couldn’t help myself. So. Here’s my reply rant.

Ok, I read McIntyre’s post. Don’t know why I read it. It’s the same thing that left wing moonbats have been saying for the last year or two.

Peter David, writer of lots of stuff, is a big liberal. He’ll happily tell you as much. (I’m associated with Peter by way of “Space Cases,” a TV show that Peter co-created with Billy Mumy. I maintain the website for the show that ran in the 90’s on Nickelodeon. )

Peter is good people, and I respect him greatly for his work. But Peter has stated *many* times on his website [peterdavid.net] that Bush is terrible, lousy, inept, etc. etc. and that we should impeach him NOW. A majority of fans and others that leave comments on his blog are highly liberal too. This makes anything I say on his site target of a flame war, usually aimed directly at me. (When it’s not aimed at “people like you.” i.e. Bush supporters; conservatives; Republicans.)

When I’ve challenged opinions with facts, I get a dozen folks yelling at me [in text form of course], and half of those are cussing me out, because I’m an idiot for backing Bush, since he’s the worst President in the history of our nation.

When I argue that Bush is a target because he’s trying to tackle impossibly tough issues, I get yelled at. When I point out that the only thing I can remember Clinton tackling was Monica, I get yelled at. When I point out that we were attacked 3 times by al-Qaeda under Clinton, we failed to respond appropriately, and we received 9/11 as a gift to the new administration, I get yelled at.

Moonbats on the left aren’t interested in war, and they’re not interested in facts. They’re interested in taking back power of the government that they believe rightly belongs to them. Remember: 2000 and 2004 presidential elections were rigged; Dems should have won. Republicans stole the elections. Twice!

Left wingers are still causing problems for Bush and his administration. Just take note of all the leaks coming out of the CIA. Want to know why the big yelling and screaming about having Gen. Hayden posted in charge of the CIA? It’s not his lack of leadership; both sides agree that he’s a strong leader. But the left knows that the CIA has leaks that are causing great trouble for the Bush administration, and they’re concerned that Hayden is going to clean house. And he very likely is.

McIntyre says that Bush Lied ™, and that he’s been lying. Bullchips. No WMDs? Guess not. But since only Saddam and his brothers knew that they didn’t have any, and the rest of the world thought they did, you can’t blame Bush. Nothing
to do with al-Qaeda? The country of Iraq was a training ground for the terrorist organization. Hurricane Katrina? WHAT? It’s a friggin’ hurricane! Blame the inept Mayor Nagin that left all those school buses unused… which then became flooded.. or blame Governor Kathleen Blanco of Louisiana, who waited 48 hours after Bush called her and said, please request help, before she actually did call and request federal help. FEMA certainly didn’t win any awards for their response, but there was plenty of blame to go around, starting at the local level. Even if FEMA failed, how does that make Bush responsible? Is he supposed to do everything by himself?

I’m sorry, but McIntyre is just another example of a left wing moonbat. Maybe he’s not a left winger, but he’s repeating their speeches practically word for word. He and Cindy Sheehan should go make appearances together.

Noodlehead Nagin Gets Four More Years

Written by Robert Rhodes on Sunday, May 21, 2006 in: Politics |

This headline from FOXnews.com says it all:

New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin Wins Re-Election

The people of New Orleans have spoken. I think their first word was “duh,” followed by “ok.. whatever.”

Well, good for them. The next time a disaster strikes, and a few hundred are killed by the stupidity of Nagin, I’ll shed no tears. I’m already out of pity for the state, where it seems millions of federal dollars go to fix problems, but nothing ever gets fixed.

Where does the money go? Perhaps we should ask William Jefferson.

Brainless Britney Attempts Bouncing Baby

Written by Robert Rhodes on Friday, May 19, 2006 in: Main |

You know, I never intended this column to become all about Britney Spears. Usually a single dose is all that’s really needed.

In what is now becoming known as Seanprestonism, Britney stepped out of a store on Thursday, and… (more…)

Mexico Threatens Lawsuit in United States

Written by Robert Rhodes on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 in: Politics |

I’m not sure how much airplay this is getting, but it should be read to every American.. and in particular those Republicans that voted not to secure our borders yesterday.

[Mexican President Vicente] Fox’s government said this week it will file lawsuits in U.S. courts if [National] Guard troops themselves arrest migrants. But presidential spokesman Ruben Aguilar said Wednesday that Mexico respects the U.S. decision to send the soldiers and that “it’s not about militarizing” the border.

I’ll censor myself here, but I have no problem sharing with you that I’m considering several different colorful metaphors to tell Mexico where and what they can do with their lawsuit.

Mexico dictating policy that the United States can set. Isn’t anyone else as cheesed off about this as I? To have the gall to make such a statement, simply amazes me.

We need to set our goals on America, not on Mexico. The border needs to be secured, first. Not the Mexican border. The American border. (Although to be honest, we’re not talking about a mass immigration of illegals from Canada.) But it’s not just about illegal immigration. It’s about security.

Unfortunately, the idea of securing our borders was voted down yesterday, 55 to 40. (Including 18 Republicans that sided against.) But that’s ok, because today the vote is in, and everyone wants to build a 370-mile fence.

Whee. Big whoop. Mexico has it’s problems, but I suspect the lack of ladders isn’t one of them.

With the refusal to listen to the conservative base by Republicans, I hope they enjoy their last few months in office. Let the American people explain it to the 18 Republicans that didn’t listen to their respective communities in the form of an primary election. Hopefully that means that there will be different Republicans in office next year, and not new Democrats. As stupid as the Republicans have been, installing Dems in office would certainly be worse. It would be a case of not giving the power to those that want it, but removing power from those that no longer deserve to have it.

Brainless Britney Back in Baby Hotseat

Written by Robert Rhodes on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 in: Main |

Previously I mentioned that Britney Spears, that brainless, clueless mom wannabe was running around town with her baby in her lap as she drove.

She claimed at the time that the situation was caused because she was trying to avoid the paparazzi.

Well… later she apologized for her mistake. How nice. That’s makes it all better.

Then a few weeks ago child services checked her out because her baby received a hairline fracture in the skull. Fell out of a baby chair, you see. So, they took baby Sean to the hospital because he was sleeping longer than usual… a week after the incident. Oh, hey, no big deal. Just a little blood clog and a hairline fracture on the skull.

Guess what? She’s done it again. Britney was caught driving with an improperly installed child seat… and an improperly installed brain:

Britney and Baby Sean

I can hear child services making yet another house call.

What’s better than all this? Britney is pregnant.

Oh joy. Another child to place in the capable hands of bubble-headed Britney.
