Collected Phone Records Released To Public!

Written by Robert Rhodes on Saturday, May 13, 2006 in: Politics |

That’s right. I’ve done a thorough investigation, and found that phone records have not only been recorded by a large corporation, but that they’ve been giving the information out to the public. Here’s my evidence.

SBC Phonebook

I’m shocked… SHOCKED!… at this outrage.

Yeah. The outrage known by words like “leak,” “treason,” and “unpatriotic.”

Whistle-blower? My backside. I’m really getting tired, fed up, and generally annoyed at the cowards hiding somewhere in the government that are constantly trying to undermine the War On Terror.

And USA Today isn’t any better.

What the devil is wrong with some of these media outlets? Have they lost their minds? If they could have, would they have released attack plans prior to D-Day? I can see it now: “Government plans large military invasion that is unlikely to succeed. Sources reveal a project named ‘Overlord’ that is certain to spell doom for thousands. How many more brave men must die before we pull out of this senseless war? After all, it was America’s fault for having all our military eggs in one basket, as it were, at Pearl Harbor.”

The comparison seems weak to you? Ask yourself why. Because it is a different war, and the players in the war have changed, but don’t kid yourself: the bad guys want us just as dead.

Funny Money No Laughing Matter

Written by Robert Rhodes on Friday, May 5, 2006 in: Politics |

Hat Tip to Don and Linda for the following story out of Dallas:

About a 4 or 5 weeks ago we sent [a $100] bill to the bank. I was the one that discovered it was fake. It felt too smooth.

It had the thread in it, it had the water mark and it marked ‘good’ with a counterfeit pen marker.

When the deposit was sent to the bank, we told the bank we thought it was fake. Even the bank’s counterfeit pen marked it “ok.” When the bank ran it through their machine, it kicked it out.

This is when we found out how you can always tell if a bill is good or not.

There are ridges in the clothing of the presidents. I did not know this neither did Christie or any body else we have told. You can feel them with your fingers or you can scratch the bill on the clothing area of the picture with your finger nails. The ridges will always be there if the bill is good.

So, do not depend on any marking pen to identify legal money. Always scratch the clothing on the presidents and make sure there are ridges there.

This had to be organized crime. Who else could put the thread, water mark and a coating on the paper so a [marking] pen would show it to be legal?

Have you scratched your money lately?

I don’t know if it was organized crime or not, but I suspect that there are some folks in the federal government that would love to talk to the counterfeiters.

Here’s another thought: Dallas has a lot of immigrants coming in from south of the border. My bet is that a fair share of them are illegal. I wonder if this funny money came in from the south as well? I sense yet another reason to have secure borders.

Kennedy Coverup?

Written by Robert Rhodes on in: Politics |

Patrick Kennedy, son of Ted “Where’s My Drink?” Kennedy, drove his Ford Mustang into a cement barrier at the Capitol building, and then told officers, under slurred speech, that we was there for a vote. Too bad the Capitol took it’s last vote for the day 6 hours previously.

I was going to make a brief post about this mess last night. But. I thought I’d wait until the next morning. Sheesh. What a difference just a few hours makes.

Officers on the scene were told by an “officer higher than a patrolman” to leave. The replacement officers took Kennedy home. No sobriety test was given.

Say it ain’t so! A drunk driving Kennedy! Why, who would have thought such a thing! And then a coverup by the police?

Well, the story has changed a couple of times from Pat Kennedy, but the most recent version is that he is now addicted to medications, and that he’ll be checking himself into drug rehab.

Good on him. Go get help. While he’s getting it, he’ll be grumbling about the special treatment he received from the police. Or, maybe he won’t. Either way, because of that special consideration, now this is a much bigger story than it was before.

Now if we can just get Teddy Kennedy to check in with his son Pat, maybe we can stop the fish from drinking too.

  • A Day Without Illegal Immigrants

Written by Robert Rhodes on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 in: Politics |

So it was a day without illegal immigrants.

What? Ain’t what you heard on the Tee Vee? You say that the main stream media is reporting on a “Day without Immigrants?”

Well, imagine that. The MSM forgetting to use the keyword “illegal.” Ha! You’d think that they had a left wing liberal agenda or something. Surely, that can’t be the case.

You know what happened here on the island of Oahu in Hawaii today, on this “Day Without Illegal Immigrants?”

We celebrated Lei Day. Parties. Food. Drink. Music.

Tourists came in, bought food, watched the shows in Waikiki, and had a fine time here in Paradise. The sun was out, and people were soaking it up. Surf was a little flat on the South Shore, but that didn’t stop locals and tourists alike from enjoying the water.

People went to work, went to play, and some just went to get out of the house.

Me? I did a little work on the computer: wrote up a couple of columns [including this one now], and finished drafts of a couple of video ads for my other project/life (alohamagazine.com).

    What didn’t happen here?

The state didn’t stop running. Retail shops didn’t stop selling. The engine that is the tourist industry did not stall, but instead kept on rolling, all day long.

A day without illegal immigrants came.. and went.. and nobody noticed a thing.

Thinking perhaps that it’s just me? Hey, I thought so, too. So, I checked the local papers online: the Honolulu Star Bulletin and the Honolulu Advertiser:

    Star Bulletin

    Honolulu Advertiser

Not a single remark even ABOUT the day’s events concerning boycotts and walkouts of business by illegal immigrants.

For us here on the island – and in the state of Hawaii – the day without immigrants had no effect. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Nationally syndicated talk show host Michael Reagan, stationed in California, said it best when he said that he’d rather pay someone an extra Fifty Cents an hour if it meant keeping Los Angeles illegal immigrants off of the streets, because it was a quick, easy commute to work in downtown LA.

Methinks this day has backfired on the people that were thinking that they could cripple the United States by not going to work today.

A day without illegal immigrants? Shoot, let’s go for a week. A month. A YEAR. The United States is strong, and filled with people that believe in this country. They fly the AMERICAN Flag, and can sing The Star Spangled Banner in ENGLISH.

The citizens of this country, including LEGAL immigrants, should be downright angry because of the threat coming from these illegal immigration rallies. Trying to force the United States to give them amnesty, or “we’ll shut your country down.”

Well the heck with them, the heck with their rallies, and the heck with their services! Lets pay a little extra to these jobs that supposedly Americans won’t do, and then we’ll see how many LEGAL American Citizens apply for those jobs.

Come on, America: Don’t let a bunch of criminals push you around!

    Beach Volleyball Tournament Draws Crowd

Written by Robert Rhodes on Monday, May 1, 2006 in: Hawaii |

It’s not unusual to see a group of tourists enjoying the sun and sand at Queen’s Surf Beach in Waikiki. After all, it’s this beach that serves up movies and entertainment in the form of Sunset On The Beach a couple of weekends per month.

However, this Saturday morning we find four volleyball nets setup and ready for play by nine, and several all-guy and all-gal teams ready to battle it out. Some will play for money. Some will play for glory. Everyone plays for fun. ( For more, see my article at AlohaMagazine.com’s Talk Story.)
