It’s Life, Jim, But Not As We Know It

Monday, August 27th, 2007

“We come in peace! …. (shoot to kill, shoot to kill…)

Ah, my mind wanders.

I just got tired of all that poo that’s been flying around the airwaves lately and, just to break things up a little, thought I’d include this little post.

“Star Trekkin’” was a silly little diddy that came out some years ago. I did a quick search and found it alive and well in cyberspace which, somehow, seems quite appropriate given the song.

If you have heard it, then maybe you haven’t seen the collection of videos and animation that’s out there.

If you haven’t heard it, and you don’t mind giving up a few minutes of your life for a silly, useless cause… then enjoy.

Book ‘em, Dean-o

Monday, August 20th, 2007

Hurricane Dean up to a category 5? Ouch. Look out, this one may hurt.

Am I the only one thinking that New Orleans has dodged a bullet? Can you imagine the damage that would be inflicted if Dean were to hit New Orleans?

At least that would give the conspiracy theorists something to do. They could blame President Bush for steering another hurricane to New Orleans. The city mayor and state governor could play the game of “I have no common sense” again, while Senator ColdCash would be borrowing a boat to retrieve his bribe money.

The city would lose. The people would lose. The state would lose.

No real winners. But somehow the liberal Dems would find a way to blame President Bush for it all.

Or maybe they’ll just blame Karl Rove. Yeah. Must be Rove. Or Rush Limbaugh. (Rush runs the country anyway, right?)

See? I could be a liberal nutroot Democrat! All I have to do is see conspiracies everywhere by the Bush Administration, ignore facts and common sense, and harp about global warming. Simple!

Another Illegal Immigrant Fiasco

Monday, August 20th, 2007

Elvira Arellano, the apple of the llegal immigration movement’s eye.

Arrested because she decided to flaunt the law. “Look at me! I’m an illegal immigrant, using a stolen social security number, and working at an airport! You can do it, too!”

Please. I have no pity for this woman. She chose to come into the country illegally. She had her child here - an anchor baby - making the boy a citizen of the United States. And now we’re supposed to cry over the fact that she laughed in the face of the law and was deported?

You know who I feel sorry for? The boy. From this point on, little Saul will be a tool for illegal immigrant groups - pro amnesty groups - to use. He’ll be stuck on the front line, to pull the bleeding heart strings of everyone in the country.

And don’t you dare say anything bad about little Saul or mama Elvira! You’ll be labeled a hate monger for sure! You’re either with them, or against all immigrants!

No. I’m against illegal immigrants coming to this country, insisting that it’s a “right” to be here. It’s not a right! It’s a privilege!

If we don’t enforce the laws on the books to protect the sovereignty of the United States, then we shouldn’t be surprised when terrorists arrive not at our doorstep, but in our houses.

It’s easy to say “well, we’ll just let this slide this time…”

Until later, when “this time” becomes “every time.”

A slippery slope indeed.

Keys To The Kingdom

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

Well, those spammers out there continued to annoy me. They’ll find holes in places you didn’t even know you had places.

So I’ve added a code-verification, care of ProtectWebForm.com.

Now the trick to posting is that you must be registered.. you must be logged in.. and you must type in the correct code in the image verification. (First time posters will have to wait until I approve their first comment.)

It’s not perfect by any stretch… but I’m hoping it cuts down on the spam a great deal. We shall see.
